Creativity.

The pottery that I was into last year after getting inspiration from a YouTube video, now needs revival.

The creative in me seems to have gone to sleep lately. I used to think that I am creative or di some people say so? Lately I seem to be more focused on farming than anything else and I wonder if I am being creative at it anyway.

What does creativity look like in my life lately?

Is it the vitality of youth that I have lost that I have become less creative or I am less appreciative or unaware of my own efforts at creativity?

My creative bit used to be seen in gardening and my own house interior design. But it’s been a while since I added anything new to my gardening style and I have not rearranged our house or added a picture to the wall in a long time to create some beauty or enliven the dull corners. It was just the other day when I thought that our cottage in the village needed some new indoor plants and a coat of paint. I also thought of less bush along the walkway since we’re visited by Mr Big Snake recently and a hedge around the pond to keep children away, but one that would need little or no trimming to avoid foliage falling into the water.

Proverbs 27: 23Know the state of your flocks,
and put your heart into caring for your herds,
24 for riches don’t last forever, and the crown might not be passed to the next generation.25 After the hay is harvested and the new crop appears and the mountain grasses are gathered in, 26 your sheep will provide wool for clothing, and your goats will provide the price of a field. 27 And you will have enough goats’ milk for yourself, your family, and your servant girls.

At the farm, though, I have begun the process of creating a leisure garden. So, I do something little towards that end each day that I spend at the farm with the cows, ducks, chicken, one billy goat called Black and the fish. Sometimes it just planting a flower or tree, uprooting weeds or filling a ditch. Sometimes I just gaze all over the place to paint a picture in mind. I still remember a statement that I read when I was a kid attributed to Walt Disney’s widow, when someone wished that the late Walter Disney could see what the Disney park looked like, and she said that he saw it.

I think God saw the world before he created it.

Probably my creative bit is developing wings again getting ready to fly. Maybe that is what creativity looks like to me lately, apart from creatively feeding my cows and fish.

Yes, when done rightly! That is the catch. That is the reason I am not quitting after so many falls, because I have learnt and still learning from my mistakes.
