Pets.

Tommy this morning, starting his sleep after his night forays and escapades.

What is good about having a pet?

They are fun. They bring pleasure by just being. Sometimes I am amazed how these strange creatures bond with us and become family; looking up to us for their wellbeing (food, shelter and company). And we give them names which they accept and commands that they may or may not obey, just like humans.

Kitty reclining on a couch. I wonder why they usually look for where there’s a cushion or pillow? Maybe creation scientists can answer such questions.

Their presence sometimes calms our racing thoughts, focusing on them and reflecting on God’s creation. It’s amazing how our cat in Entebbe, never wants to be alone, always looking for a family member to be close by, except when it has kittens. Kitty is unlike Tommy here in Tororo, who often shows up when it’s hungry, smells something good or returning to sleep.

There other reasons, though, why having pets is a good thing; like security and sanitation. I have written them in an earlier prompt. Our Pets.
